Be Franchising: still open for business
Be Franchising, originally setup as part of County Durham’s Local Economic Growth Initiative (LEGI) back in 2007, whose European funded status ended in September has found a new lease of life offering an extended range of services to a wider audience.
The Be Franchising initiative was the UK’s seminal enterprise growth programme offering a range of services to would-be entrepreneurs across County Durham. Where peer organisations offered business advice and assistance to those considering or actually in self employment. Be Franchising adopted a different approach, concentrating on the franchised business model. Speaking at a recent business event Scott Galloway a Be Franchising Specialist Business Advisor commented “We knew the demise of some of the regions Enterprise Agency’s would leave a wide gap in the sector. Despite the cuts and scale backs within the enterprise support sector we knew that a real entrepreneurial appetite still exists here in the North East. To that end it was a no brainer that we continued our work, opening up our specialist services to a wider North East audience. We now find ourselves offering specialist advice on behalf of the majority of the local authorities here in the NE region and having this wider audience has also introduced us to a great deal of business owners across the region who are looking at growth strategies for their own business’s. It has not been easy or without some pain moving from our public sector credentials to a more private sector mind-set but so far the signs are very encouraging for a positive and busy future for Be Franchising team“.
Further to a wider working remit Be Franchising have also recently gained affiliate status of the British Franchise Association further demonstrating their professional expertise and ethical integrity at the highest level as franchising specialist.
