Bdaily and ABC host first Regional debate

Bdaily Business News Network is joining up with Asian Business Connexions to host the first debate on ‘The State of the Region’.

The event, which will be held at the Literary and Philosophical Society Library in Newcastle, will give some of the region’s biggest business names and political figures chance to discuss some of the most important issues facing the North East.

The debate will form part of a special edition of Ammar Mirza and Jalf’s ‘Show Business’ radio show, and will be broadcast live on Spice FM. It will also be filmed by Pyramid Media for the Bdaily Business News Network website.

Local Asian serial entrepreneur and Secretary General of ABC- Ammar Mirza highlighted his excitement of participating in this unique debate: “This debate is a great launchpad for hearing business and political leaders share their views, opinions and insights into the region, and more specifically how they are going to support us locally, and represent us nationally.”

Topics up for debate will include the issues affecting the regional job market, the best way to support businesses and the need for strong regional leadership to guide us into the future.

Individuals set to debate these issues are: leader of the “Geordie Nation” Sir John Hall, eminent businessman Bill Midgely OBE, Blaydon MP Dave Anderson, Newcastle North MP Catherine McKinnell, Conservative Party Spokesperson Anne-Marie Trevelyan and North East MEP Martin Callanan.

Each individual is well known for their strong support for the North East economy, and in the course of the discussion it is hoped that real life issues will be brought to life by the individuals who can instigate real change for the region.

Siobhan Bales, Managing Director of Bdaily Business News Network believes the debate will give businesspeople in the region a real insight into the future of the North East economy.

She commented: “Bdaily is committed to publishing what is truly impacting on business. This series of debates is part of our work to get behind the issues, strip them down and deliver a clearer understanding of what the challenges are, and how our elected bodies, business leaders and influencers are setting about solving them.

“Although we operate as an impartial news publisher, Bdaily takes our role as a news provider very seriously, and believe we need to challenge our leaders, as well as continue to inform our members as accurately and helpfully as possible.”

Mr Mirza continued: “We are appreciative of our partnership with Bdaily that clearly demonstrates two uniquely dynamic, and positively progressive organisations that are the epitome of great business network collaboration.

“Jalf Ali and I are really excited about our unique radio show being broadcast live remotely from the great Literary and Philosophical Society of Newcastle. “
