Credit where credit’s due for Newcastle Company

Two North East entrepreneurs are celebrating the start of 2012 with a new business that is unique to the UK, with big plans to expand.

Alex Martin and Simon McKenzie have set up UK Credit Services, a business-to-business credit referencing, business process and debt recovery company, after realising that such services are often inaccessible to smaller businesses due to the large fees attached to them.

The Newcastle-based company is the only one of its kind in the UK offering credit referencing to businesses and professional service providers on a flexible and affordable, contract-free monthly subscription, Alex said:

“As business owners in the past we appreciate that having good business processes in place is essential especially when it comes to all things financial.

“However, traditionally the solutions and facilities available have only been accessible to larger businesses who can afford to invest in expensive bespoke systems or employ staff dedicated to that area.

“We wanted to address this and ensure that every business has access to the same services, including SME’s who are more at risk if payments are not made to them; therefore it is essential that they are informed to make the right decisions, receive as much support as possible and benefit from our services on terms that are agreeable and at an affordable price.”

Simon added: “Our systems have been developed with the hard working business owner, manager and director in mind, they are quick, easy to use and most importantly they are flexible with no lengthy and expensive contracts.

“While we acknowledge and have embraced modern day technology, we still believe in good old fashioned customer service and speak to all of our customers regularly on a one-to-one basis to ensure they are getting the most out of our Proactive Solutions and Reactive Services, it is with this in mind that we hope to expand our client-base on a National level over the next year.”

In the next 12 months the company aims to expand Nationwide, employ a team of 20 to work from its head office on Cobalt Business Park, employ at least a further 10 business consultants around the UK and has a projected turnover of £500,000.

UK Credit Services provide online credit referencing reports from over 120 countries worldwide, delivered through their dynamic on-line system, and provide perspective tenant referencing and protection with rental guarantee schemes for landlords, support professional service providers such as accountants, bookkeepers and solicitors and provide debt recovery for businesses.
