Ryder Architecture continue success with high profile projects
Newcastle-based architectural practice, Ryder, has started the year with a number of high profile project wins with a combined build value of almost £200m.
The projects include a new headquarters for Avon and Somerset Constabulary, schools in the Scottish Highlands, another police facility in Aberdeen and a technology park in Coventry.
It follows other appointments secured since joining with awarding winning architect, Gordon Murray, including the Hitachi project in Newton Aycliffe and further projects in Scotland.
Managing director Mark Thompson said: “Whilst we remain cautious about the future we are absolutely delighted to make this announcement so soon into the New Year.
“We have worked very hard to secure new work and to streamline the business by creating strategic ventures which are allowing us to build on our strong reputation for delivering innovative designs and operating at the forefront of technology, namely our early adoption some eight years ago of Building Information Modelling.
“Our joint venture with Northumbria University, BIM Academy which provides BIM consultancy to organisations nationwide - is also providing new and exciting opportunities.”
Mark added that the firm’s decade of profile building in the capital was beginning to pay dividends with projects in the residential and hotel sectors.
Investment in China dating back to 2010 has also proved successful, with further commissions in the healthcare and education sector to support China’s rapid population growth.
These latest project wins mean Ryder has already secured over 70% of its required orders for the forthcoming financial year, which starts May 1.
