Golden Relationship of 10 years

Business & IT Consultancy Waterstons Ltd has announced it has achieved the highest level of partner recognition from Microsoft for the 10th year running.

Durham based Waterstons has achieved Microsoft Partner status with 3 Gold competencies; the company has also achieved 8 silver competencies across its breadth of software development and infrastructure capabilities.

As a Microsoft Gold Partner, Waterstons has early access to the latest Microsoft technologies and around the clock access to support from Microsoft for its customers.

Mike Waterston, Managing Director at Waterstons commented, “The fact that we have maintained our gold partner status for ten years demonstrates the commitment of our people to keeping up to date with the latest Microsoft technologies. Our customers are always happy to act as references for us when we are assessed each year which is extremely encouraging.”

In order to gain each gold competency, Waterstons has provided 5 customer references for projects involving the relevant technology, and passed assessments in licencing and sales and marketing. Each competency also requires 4 of Waterstons’ Consultants to achieve Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) status in the relevant technology.

Waterstons is the only company in the North East to achieve the Messaging competency at gold level; recognising their capabilities in email management and server integration solutions. The competency acknowledges Waterstons’ ability to help customers create communications they can rely on using Microsoft Exchange.

Mike commented “Email is a critical part of modern business, and in most cases organisations can’t work without it, so the capability to scale with the upmost reliability is imperative. Waterstons has a significant track record in building and delivering scalable and resilient email solutions, as well as integrating these with other solutions. We are incredibly pleased to be the only business in the North East to hold the gold competency in this area.”

Waterstons also achieved the gold standard in the Microsoft Server Platform competency and the Portals and Collaboration competency.

By achieving the Portals and Collaboration competency, Waterstons has demonstrated they have the skills and experience to meet their customer’s collaboration and connectivity needs across intranets, extranets and the internet using Microsoft SharePoint.

Waterstons gained the Microsoft Server Platform competency after demonstrating expertise in architecting, deploying and supporting the Windows Server operating system, infrastructure and applications. Waterstons have a clear track record in using Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services and High- Availability Clustering to ensure their customers get the most value and efficiency out of their datacentres.

This latest achievement comes at the beginning of a year which looks to be very exciting for Waterstons. The company has already outgrown its office in London, which it opened in March last year, and is moving to bigger premises at the end of the month.
