Compulsory Pensions for Employers and Employment Law Seminar
Newcastle City Council’s Enterprising Newcastle programme, in conjunction with corporate financial advisers Three Counties Ltd, are holding this event at the Newcastle City Library. This seminar will last one hour and cover the new pension legislation, not only the changes, but the actions required to ensure compliance. It will also include practical employment law guidance from Max Winthrop of Short Richardson and Forth LLP Solicitors.
Topics to be covered:
Pensions - For the first time in the history of UK pensions, all employers will be required to automatically enrol eligible employees into a workplace pension scheme and if the employee stays in the scheme the employer will be required to make contributions.
Even if the firm already offer pension arrangements for the staff, they will still have some new obligations to meet. Employers who have done nothing for their staff will have to set up a pension scheme.
It is imperative that principals of firms are provided with education and support leading up to the changes that will start to come into effect from October 2012.
Employment Law – Find out how these changes will impact on your existing contracts of employment and how to deliver these changes to staff whilst adhering to the Governments guidelines. There will also be an overview on managing redundancies and the latest workplace updates.
