Building a sustainable future
Construction industry professionals from the North East and Yorkshire have the opportunity to meet with some of the UK’s biggest organisations and secure contracts worth millions of pounds.
The ‘Building and Construction Meet the Buyer’ event will take place on Wednesday March 21 at Xcel Centre, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
This year’s event, supported by Compete North East and NEPO will focus on sustainable construction, enabling suppliers from this rapidly expanding sector of the industry to meet and secure deals with leading UK contractors and developers.
Buyers already confirmed as attending include Gentoo, South Yorkshire Police, Hanson Contracting, Wates Living Space and Vela, with more confirming daily.
Amanda Nichol from Business to Business, the organisers of the event said: “With the challenges facing the construction industry it’s more important than ever that suppliers attend events where they can network with organisations that are continuing to invest in development projects, and showcase their products and capability.
“These events are hugely popular. They are an incredibly time-efficient and successful way for buyers and suppliers to meet and do business.”
Businesses attending the event meet the buyers in pre-booked, private, face-to-face meetings, to discuss their product ranges, with a view to securing deals.
David Hill, procurement advisor for Vela said “Meet the Buyer events are a great way for me to network in a very time effective way and I find them incredibly useful.
“Vela has a large regional audience and it’s important that we engage with as many local businesses as possible, and showcase what the organisation does and who we work with within the region.”
