Vertu Motors announces winners for third annual awards
Gateshead based, Vertu Motors, which owns Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Honda and Bristol Street Motor Nation has presented the winners of its prestigious Chief Executive Officer (CEO) awards at a ceremony at Slaley Hall.
The annual internal manager awards, which are separated into ten categories, acknowledge colleagues within the businesses that have shown an outstanding work ethic and commitment to the company.
The aim of the awards is to recognise successes in the Group within each section. Winners were presented with their awards at a special dinner and ceremony at Slaley Hall hotel in Northumberland.
Many of the categories focused on the operations based at Vertu Motors Head Office in Gateshead.
Vertu Motors plc operates 83 outlets nationwide, under the brands Bristol Street Motors, Macklin Motors, Vertu Honda and Bristol Street Motor Nation representing 17 manufacturers.
Among the winners was, Shaun Gallagher, Head of Training, who was awarded Company Person of the Year, Anne-Marie Knight, Contact Centre Manager was named Head Office Manager of the Year and the accolade for Head Office Colleague of the Year was given to Graeme Robe from Head Office Finance.
Jass Singh, from the Vauxhall dealership in Sunderland was named General Manager of the Year to complete the North East winners.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors, said: “One of the Group’s core values is centred on Recognition. We have nearly 3000 colleagues serving customers every day. It is vitally important that their efforts are recognised and that colleagues going the extra mile on a consistent basis are rewarded.
“The CEO awards allow us to highlight the tremendous achievement these Managers have made within our business. Each year I take enormous pleasure in calling the winners on Christmas Eve to tell them that they have won these awards. They are all worthy winners and I had a great time celebrating their achievements at the dinner and awards ceremony.”

Sales Manager of the Year: Stephen Craig, Banbury Hyundai
Service Manager of the Year: Mathew Timmons, Chesterfield Vauxhall
Business Manager of the Year : Ollie Bell, Banbury Peugeot
Accountant of the Year: Martin Hammond, Honda Division
Parts Manager of the Year: Kevin Taylor, Birmingham Parts
Body-shop Manager of the Year: Paul Garbett, Gloucester Bodyshop
Head office Manager of the Year: Anne-Marie Knight - Contact Centre Manager
Head Office Colleague of the Year: Graeme Robe – Head Office Finance
