Waterless wash keeps vans clean on the road
An increasing number of drivers are using waterless car wash products to keep their vehicles clean when on the road, according to a new survey* by van hire comparison website VanRental.co.uk.
The survey found that car, van, caravan and motorhome drivers all appreciate the convenience and lack of mess involved in using these products when travelling. Despite this growing popularity, however, 91% of those questioned have never tried a waterless car wash product.
The figures gathered by VanRental.co.uk suggest that the potential market for waterless products is quite large. Of those questioned, 70% said that they liked to keep their vehicle clean when they were on the road, rather than leaving it until they got home.
In addition, 41% of drivers who participated in the survey said that washing a vehicle with soap and water was difficult at their homes or business premises.
VanRental.co.uk founder Roland Head said:
“I first tested waterless wash products last year and was impressed with how well they work and how easy and quick they are to use. I have been converted and now use waterless wash products regularly, especially when only a light clean is required.”
The appeal of waterless wash products seems to be particularly strong in the leisure market. Of the drivers who were questioned, 15% said that they owned a motorhome – and 85% of these said that they liked to keep their vehicle clean when travelling.
However, waterless wash products also have many potential applications for business users, says Roland Head, adding that “mobile valeting services and rental companies needing to prepare a car fast in a temporary location can also benefit from these products, as can workers who need to keep their vehicles smart when travelling.”
*985 people participated in a website survey on VanRental.co.uk from 23/01/2012– 10/02/2012.
