£5m Sunderland Ford dealership for Benfield

Benfield Motor Group have continued expansion plans with the announcement of a flagship £5m Ford Dealership in Sunderland.

The proposed outlet, due for completion by January 2013, will be Newcastle Road in Sunderland and is set to create at least 45 jobs.

It will boast a 14 car showroom, full aftersales service and service and repair centre, and follows Benfield’s acquisition of the present Jennings Ford franchise on Riverside Road, Wessinton Way.

Mark Squires, Chief Executive, Benfield Motor Group, said “We are delighted to announce this significant development and expansion of our Ford territory.

“The proposed state-of- the-art Showroom is due to be fully operational by January 2013 and we already have a temporary Showroom and Service Centre in place.

“Moving into Sunderland with Ford is a natural geographic fit for Benfield and we are very much looking forward to building and developing the Benfield brand and reputation in Wearside.”

Staff at the Jennings Ford site have transferred over to Benfield with a temporary showroom on Newcastle Road.

The new site builds Benfield’s dealership network to 33 across the North East, Teesside, Yorkshire, Cumbria and South West Scotland.
