Stephen King plays key role in Go North

Local bus operator Go North East has appointed team member Stephen King as its new marketing and sales manager. King will take on the role, applying a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience, developed from more than 16 years of dedicated service at the company.

King originally joined Go North East as a Trainee Traffic Administrator straight from school. Through hard work and dedication, he has become a integral part of the business. He has been personally responsible for many of the operator’s customer innovations that have seen Go North East leap ahead of all competition and lead the way in setting standards in transport services.

With initiatives such as The Key smartcard ticketing service, The Key Mobile, a smartphone app, and The Key Lifestyle, an integrated transport package, King has taken Go North East into a new era of technological services, improving services for customers.

In fact, Go North East has achieved many firsts with the help of King’s forward thinking. It was the first bus company to offer telephone and online sales in the UK and the first to have a central customer service team accessible via social media, phone and internet.

Prioritising customer relations and quality of service for passengers is a key focus for Go North East. The experience King brings to the position will undoubtbly keep the operator ahead of the game, continuting to launch innovative services, pushing current boundaries and utilising advanced technological services and mobile access.

Commenting on his appointment, Stephen King, marketing and sales manager at Go North East, said:
