Dine Champions New Wedding Trend

As the number of weddings increases and the trend for tying the knot in a stately home takes the industry by storm, Leeds-based wedding and events specialist, Dine has already seen a surge in enquiries and a record number of bookings for this year and next.

According to recently released figures by the Office of National Statistics, the number of weddings in the UK has risen by 3.7 per cent since 2011; whilst this may appear low, it marks the first increase in over 40 years, with two out of three civil ceremonies held in stately homes.

Well known for its portfolio of exclusive venues, Dine manages all weddings from concept to completion at The Mansion in Roundhay Park, Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire, Nostell Priory in West Yorkshire and Rise Hall, a beautiful stately home nestled in the heart of East Yorkshire and home to TV personality Sarah Beeny and her husband Graham.

In 2011 the company received over 7,000 enquiries, 1,500 more than in 2010, and remarkably since the New Year, has received a huge 1,400 enquires for its venues.

And, romantic February, with Valentine’s Day and Leap Year, saw a real spike in business with Dine securing 29 wedding bookings – the highest number of sales the company has seen in one month for the last year.

Managing Director at Dine, Daniel Gill, said, “I truly believe that the rise in weddings and enquires into more exclusive venues is a knock on effect from last year’s Royal Wedding. This was a momentous day which had the whole world talking and sharing stories on the dress, the ring and of course, the venue. Every bride wants to feel like a princess on their big day, and what better way to achieve this than through a secluded stately home, which offers exclusivity and uniqueness.”
