BBC Apprentice Star to talk at University

A former finalist of BBC’s The Apprentice will be giving advice on how to be a success in the board room to business students from across the Midlands at a free event hosted by Birmingham City University next week.

Wolverhampton-born Ruth Badger shot to fame in the 2006 series of the gruelling TV competition. After finishing as runner-up in the show, she launched her own business, Ruth Badger Consultancy Limited. With countless major International Companies as clients, Ruth Badger Consultancy provides Company MOT’s and ‘real life’ business advice. She formed her second business; careers, enterprise and training company, Ruth Badger Academy Ltd, in 2008.Her companies have helped others to improve their business, and motivate individuals to achieve their dreams in the every growing and competitive world of business.

Ruth will be visiting Birmingham City Business School on Tuesday 20thMarch to encourage young people from secondary schools and colleges across the West Midlands to consider a career in business. This is part of a special event, organised for local schools and colleges in which Ruth will share her experiences of working in business, starring in BBC’s The Apprentice, and successfully setting up her own companies.

Paul Bowker, Associate Dean at Birmingham City Business School, will introduce the event. He said: “It is very exciting for us as a practice-based Business School to have Ruth Badger, who is seen as an ambassador for entrepreneurship in young people, as a guest speaker. This is a fantastic opportunity for Schools and Colleges, and I am expecting the event to be very well attended”.

Birmingham City Business School is a leading practice-based business school with a strong focus on leadership.
