Tyneside hydraulics firm host elected Mayor

Tyneside-based hydraulic products manufacturer has been visited by elected Mayor of North Tyneside, Linda Arkley.

It was part of the Elected Mayor’s year-long programme of visits to local businesses, an initiative to help boost the region’s economic and business growth.

Quick Hydraulics, a member of NOF Energy, has been providing hydraulic engineering expertise for 35 years.

During the visit, Mrs Arkley toured the workshop and met with a number of skilled technicians and support staff, including new apprentices Corey Nelson and Bethany Henderson.

Mrs Arkley said: “It has been fascinating to find out about the highly-skilled and technical work that goes on at Quick Hydraulics and a delight to meet some of its workforce.

“I was also especially interested to hear about its bold and ambitious plans for the future, to maximise emerging opportunities in the hydrocarbon and renewable energy sectors, bringing with it growth and new jobs.

“North Tyneside Council will do all that it can to support Quick Hydraulics in its continued success.”

Andrew Esson, Quick Hydraulics Managing Director, said: “The Elected Mayor was very impressed with the growth we have achieved at Quick Hydraulics and the plans we have for the future.

“We are very proud to be based in North Tyneside, which has such an important role to play in the local, regional and national economy through its strong links with industry, particularly the offshore energy sectors.”

Joanne Leng, Director Business Development at NOF Energy, added: “Quick Hydraulics is one of a number of companies in North Tyneside that are leaders in their fields in the energy sector supply chain.

“The Elected Mayor has always been very supportive of the energy sectors and understands the benefits local companies in the supply chain have on the economic future of the region.”
