Hunt is on for top manufacturers
EEF, the UK manufacturing organisation is searching for the best manufacturers, recognising outstanding business performance.
The EEF awards are free to enter and provide many opportunities to win across ten categories and at both regional and national finals.
Businesses of all sizes, and talented apprentices, are invited to enter, as entrants will be judged across categories including business growth, skills and people management, innovation, environmental achievement and export.
It will also celebrate the achievements of apprentices and young engineering students, highlighting the rising stars of UK manufacturing.
EEF Chief Executive Terry Scuoler said: “UK manufacturers achieve greatness, yet rarely step into the limelight. Our awards, now in the fourth year, celebrate the outstanding achievements of our diverse manufacturing sector and the talented young apprentices who are shaping the future.
“The awards underline the dynamic manufacturing industry that we can all be proud of, which is steering economic recovery.”
The judges are seeking examples of inspiration, passion, creativity, ingenuity, and sheer hard work.
Chair of Judges Professor Steve Evans of the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge, said: “The EEF Awards expose the outstanding business performance and drive behind our industry, and it’s these success stories that demonstrate the important role of manufacturing in a balanced economy.
“We encourage businesses to share their experiences and wisdom with EEF by entering the awards in 2012.”
The awards will be judged across five regions, with regional winners announced in November at celebration events, sponsored by Santander Corporate Banking.
Regional winners will then compete for the national awards at a ceremony in London in January.
