Apprentice finalist to speak at North East Expo
Jamie Lester, former BBC1 Apprentice finalist and Head of property agency, Haus Properties, will be hosting a seminar at this year’s North East Expo on Wednesday 18th April at Newcastle Racecourse.
The North East Expo is one of the largest business events in the North of England attracting over 1500 visitors. The event is free to attend and is open to all entrepreneurs and businesses in the UK.
Jamie set up his own business at the age of 24 and turned over of £1m in only two years. He built on his growing reputation when he appeared on the award winning BBC show, The Apprentice, and now runs Haus Properties, a boutique South West London property agency he set up in 2011. Haus Properties is shaking up the ‘traditional’ world of estate agency with a distinct approach including a free removal service, ‘open-book’ technology and video view of all properties. Jamie also has grand plans to expand over the coming years opening further offices in London.
Jamie is no stranger to the pressures of starting and running a business, and estate agency is a crowded sector, so he is well placed to give practical advice and tips on how best to get started and more importantly, make it a success. He comments: “Appearing on The Apprentice was a life-changing experience which spurred me on to set up my own estate agency. After surviving many boardroom battles, I knew I could take on anything. In such a competitive market, you need to stand apart from the others.”
He adds: “Starting up your own business is a daunting but exhilarating experience. My seminar covers a variety of essential topics such as how to go about winning new business, the importance of people management and motivation to being able to turn leads into sales. Everything I talk about I have experienced first-hand and is never cited from any text book.”
Event organisers Marc Gordon from Network North and Andrew Charlton from BACK Consulting were delighted to welcome Jamie to this years’ North East Expo.
“Jamie’s experience of starting his own business will help many people to think differently about the way they approach their own businesses,” said Andrew. “We will be announcing our other special guest speakers over the coming weeks and can guarantee that this year’s North East Expo will be bigger and better than ever before.”
Marc agreed, “We have a staggering 215 companies booked up and we’re expecting to welcome around 1,800 people through the doors on the day. It will be a fantastic opportunity for networking, learning and developing new business ideas.”
