Newcastle United rescue business event
North East exhibitors who feared they may have lost their money when a business event was called off by its organisers have now been saved – thanks to Newcastle United and Sodexo at the Sports Direct Arena, (formerly known as St. James’ Park) and also Back Consulting and Network North.
A number of companies paid to exhibit at the Bizotunity B2B North East 2012 event, run by a Norwich-based company, which was due to take place at the stadium on May 24, but have not heard anything from the organisers.
Now Sodexo Prestige – which runs the conference and events at the stadium – is to host the event and will give anyone who paid for a stand the opportunity to exhibit for free.
The event –which has now been renamed Exposure – is being organised jointly by Sodexo and leading North East organisations, Network North and Back Consulting and will be focussed on business development.
Along with the exhibition, the free, all-day event will feature seminars and workshops covering everything from marketing to how to dress to impress.
“We are delighted that we’ve been able to step in and can work with Network North to ensure this event now goes ahead,” said Samantha Doyle, area sales manager for Sodexo Prestige.
“It should be a fantastic day for anyone looking to grow their business.”
Mark Gordon of Network North, which also organises the NorthEastExpo event which took place on April 18th at Newcastle Racecourse, said that the organisation was delighted it had been able to ensure that stallholders wouldn’t miss out.
“Anyone that can provide us with the paperwork to show they had already paid to exhibit at the Bizotunity event can have a stand for free,” he said.
“And we’re also hoping to attract many more businesses to take part in what should be a great day.”
