Manchester promotes business tourism in South East
Visit Manchester and some of the city’s business tourism big hitters will target event organisers in the South East next month at Manchester’s annual destination showcase, ManchesterLive!
The event is designed for Manchester to talk up its business tourism product and show event organisers and buyers why they should choose the city for future conferences.
Over 35 venues and service providers will attend the event, including The Lowry Hotel, Manchester Central, Radisson Edwardian Hotel and University of Manchester.
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, said: “ManchesterLive! is our flagship business tourism event and a great example of how, by working in partnership, we can achieve so much more for the city than we could alone.
“When you look at the impact that a single conference or business event can have on the local economy, it’s clear that events like these are well worth the investment.
“Business tourism is worth over £570m a year to the Greater Manchester economy and ManchesterLive! is our chance to securing business from the lucrative South East conference market.”
Helen Hipkiss, PR and Marketing Manager for The Lowry Hotel added: “ManchesterLive! presents an excellent opportunity for The Lowry Hotel to do business and make valuable connections with key players in the conference and business events industry.
“The event is always relaxed and well organised, and most importantly it attracts top-quality attendees - we’re looking forward to another great night.”
The event takes place on Thursday, May 10 at The Roof Gardens in Kensington, and now has over 400 confirmed guests.
