Staffordshire Office Supplies Firm Celebrates National Contract Win

Staffordshire office supplies company JG Fenn Ltd has been awarded a contract with the UK’s largest healthcare charity Nuffield Health and has celebrated this win by pledging to donate to a tree fund, to create the Nuffield Health Woodland.

The Nuffield Health Woodland programme created by JG Fenn in partnership with Nuffield Health and Groundwork, an independent charity that works to create social, economic and environmental improvements, is part of a national event to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee that is being run by the Woodland Trust and aims to plant six million trees across the UK.

During the launch ceremony this week, at the site of the Nuffield Health Woodland at Watersplash Farm in the Colne Valley, near Uxbridge, the last tree planted was an oak sapling from the Royal Estate and was carefully placed in the ground by JG Fenn National Account Manager, Wendy Heath, together with Catherine Sheeran from Nuffield Health and representatives from Groundwork South East.

Martin Harris, Sales Director of JG Fenn said: “We are thrilled to have won the national contract with Nuffield Health and to celebrate the win with the launch of the Nuffield Health Woodland Programme close to Nuffield Health’s Head Office. We are also looking forward to partnering with Groundwork and working with staff and volunteers from the Iver Environment Centre to transform the local environment and provide opportunities for disadvantaged adults in the local community.”

Catherine Sheeran for Nuffield Health said: “The Nuffield Health Woodland programme is a great project that we are proud to be a part of. Nuffield Health works in over 300 locations across the UK and aims to support the communities in which we work. This project allows us to work in our local community helping disadvantaged adults gain training and work experience, clear disused land and plant various tree species to reduce CO2 and encourage wildlife to flourish.”

She added: “For the time being, we are looking to have the one location – however if over time the land becomes full then we will definitely look to have another elsewhere, with the close help and guidance of JG Fenn.”

Lou Kizwini, Regional Director at Groundwork South East, said: “The Nuffield Health Woodland tree planting programme demonstrates how two companies such as JG Fenn and Nuffield Health can take active steps to help improve the environment and make a difference for the local community. The programme will positively contribute to the ongoing ecological enhancements in the Colne Valley and for Groundwork it’s a great opportunity to work with new partners, JG Fenn and Nuffield Health, who are actively seeking practical ways to improve the environment for local communities.”

Groundwork will source the trees that JG Fenn donates, and staff and volunteers from the Iver Environment Centre will plant the trees.
