Being nice to your staff

Union leaders have urged fuel tank drivers to reject a deal proposed by employers - bringing the threat of industrial action ever closer.

While army personnel have been trained to drive fuel tankers, it is estimated that the strike will hit more than 90% of petrol stations across the country. Unite is now recommending drivers vote against the deal proposed by employers, after they failed to meet demand over minimum pay, pension rights and redundancies.

While a petrol strike would affect most of us, the dispute also raises the question of looking after staff? Should bosses be lenient to keep their staff happy, or refuse to give in to demanding employees?
