What is Unified Communications?
- Unified communications brings all forms of communication for your business onto a single, secure network infrastructure. What this means is you have a box and all your phone lines, broadband lines feed into this box. And from that box both us and yourselfs can control everything that happens from there.
- The phones themselves connect into your computers which means from your screen with one click you can tell your computer where you want your telephone calls directed too. So with one telephone number you can be contacted by your customers wherever you like, office, mobile, home or even have your voicemails sent to your email. The possibilities are endless.
- Now I could go in depth about all the techy jargon and put you all to sleep, but I am not going to do that so here are some benefits of what a UC system can do to improve efficiency for the business.
- Auto attendant– press one for reception….
This feature means callers receive a greeting set by you and by pressing the relevant option can be seamlessly connect to the department they require i.e. sales, reception etc…
- Office Worker– this is a conference call feature which allows you to effortlessly set up virtual meetings for colleagues wherever they are and you do not all have to be jammed into a boardroom. And also cuts out travelling expenses for out of office staff and clients alike.
- For those who need to be wandering around the workplace– Wireless dect phones allow you to stay in touch while moving round the business, making you more responsive. And also make and receive calls with the HQ FOC
- Security Guard– essentially a door phone which means authorised staff can access your secure building with a phone call for out of hour’s access etc…
- IT Manager functions– once the system is set up your nominated it persons can manage simple functions on the system like DDI, call groups, day/night services functions speed dials etc…
- MY Calls– this functions is ideal for managed business spaces, calls centres as this allows the manager to monitor call activity for both incoming and outgoing calls, missed calls, calls on hold etc… Can show who is working efficiently and who is not. And what you need to do to make sure missed calls etc… Are not missed in the future.
- Receptionist in a Managed business space– with caller ID displayed you can give the appropriate greeting for the required business the customer wants i.e….. and the receptionist can instantly direct the call to the relevant office. With busy lamps indicated on the phone system they can see who is one the phone or away from desk and can redirect to relevant persons or voicemail.
- Home worker– you can use your handset at home to communicate as id=f you were in the office by simply plugged an IP phone into your home broadband router.
- Mobile Twinning– you can be on the road and still contactable meaning you will never miss an important enquiry again.
