Newcastle to host Offshore Wind supply chain event
NOF Energy and Energi Coast have joined forces with The Crown Estate to host a major UK Offshore Wind Supply Chain event in Newcastle.
The event is part of a UK-wide initiative to help The Crown Estate further engage with the supply chain, and will provide an overarching view of the UK’s offshore wind programme, delving into the specific details of individual projects and enabling networking with the industry’s key players.
Speakers at the event will include representatives from The Crown Estate, Department of Energy & Climate Change, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, AREVA Wind, EDF Energy Renewables, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power Systems Europe and Energi Coast.
The UK’s offshore wind programme is developing a worldwide reputation for excellence, and the development of an effective UK supply chain is central to realising the ambitions of the offshore wind industry.
NOF Energy are committed to ensuring companies have the necessary market awareness to deliver a balanced energy future, which will require an efficient supply chain serving multiple energy resources.
George Rafferty, Chief Executive of NOF Energy, said: “NOF Energy is committed to promoting UK suppliers to the global energy market and in particular to ensuring that they feature highly in developments off our own coast.
“This conference will be stimulating and informative as well as being a good opportunity to meet other suppliers in order to build new collaborations. We look forward to having a full house on the day and to further strengthening UK business in the offshore market.”
The event is sponsored by Technip Offshore Wind and OGN Group, and representatives from both organisations will also be speaking at the event.
Alex Dawson, Chairman of Energi Coast, added: “In addition to providing the North East supply chain with valuable market intelligence, this event will also reinforce to the speakers, including the Crown Estate and the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the strengths of the integrated and highly-capable offshore supply chain that exists in the region.”
