Save money by buying intelligently say FPB
Businesses can save money by group buying and clever purchasing, according to the Forum of Private Business.
Research by the Forum indicates that over 80% of all small business owners have seen their costs increase over the past year, with the same number saying that it had adversely impacted on their business. 74% said that this has inhibited their growth ambitions.
The Forum have now joined forces with the Buying Support Agency (BSA) to help small businesses make savings, and are offering a buying support service with access to a buying group and a free purchasing audit.
The Forum’s Chief Executive, Phil Orford said: “At a time of recession and spiralling costs it is important that small businesses are given all the support they need to control their overheads and cash flow worries. Group buying is a real solution to the problem.
“In partnership with the Buying Support Agency the Forum is helping business owners gain considerable time and cost savings – and peace of mind through advice, support and guidance.”
The BSA have also offered some top tips to help firms to run their business more effectively. This includes making sure you know where your costs come from, check you are being offered best prices by your current suppliers, join a buying group for most routine costs, and communicate early to suppliers if your company is struggling.
Matt Roper, Founder and Managing Director of the BSA, said: “We often hear small business owners say that they’ve got great purchasing deals and yet they’ve not had the opportunity to benchmark these prices against other comparable businesses to validate whether this view is accurate.
“Not only that, small businesses can’t expect to enjoy the level of competitive prices charged to the largest companies due to their lack of buying power.
“The BSA is about enabling smaller companies to punch way above their weight and save significant sums of money. And Forum members gain access to our buying group without charge and without obligation.”
