Supporting UK Manufacturing
UK manufacturing barely grew in April, due to a lack of export demand from Europe. This is now likely to raise the chances of the Bank of England calling for another cash boost to prevent a longer recession.
This news is set to put further pressure on the Coalition, who have previously vowed to support UK manufacturing. So what should be done? Does the Government need to rethink its manufacturing policies, or would another round of quantitative easing be the best thing to bring the UK out of this slump?
