Elected mayors - tell us what you think
Today voters will go to the polls to decide whether an elected mayoral system should be created in major cities across England.
But if they are introduced, how much difference will they make? Do elected mayors have the potential to implement real and sustained change in the areas they serve, or will it create yet more bureaucracy? Where mayors have been elected previously, evidence shows that they initially have had a positive effect - before getting sucked into council bureaucracy.
