FES secures deal with Bluewater, Gulf of Mexico
FES International announces deal with Bluewater Energy Services BV for stab plate connector systems
FES International, a global provider of fluid transfer systems, has secured a contract to supply stab plate connectors with retraction mechanisms to Bluewater Energy Services for a turret being delivered by AMEC to Marine Well Containment Company.
UK-based FES will design and manufacture the stab plates as part of Marine Well Containment Company’s expanded system being developed to capture and contain liquids from deepwater well control events in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
The stab plate connector system will be used for emergency connection / disconnection of fluid and electrical paths in the umbilical between the modular capture vessels and the subsea capping stack. The stab plate connector system is designed for emergency and procedural disconnection, safely connecting and disconnecting all fluid and electrical paths in an automatic sequence.
Managing Director of FES International, Rob Anderson, said: “We are privileged to be able to work with Bluewater on such an important containment response venture aiming to enhance industry containment capabilities in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.”
The expanded containment system is being engineered for use in deepwater depths of up to 10,000 feet in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The system has the capacity to contain up to 100,000 barrels of liquid and handle 200 million cubic feet of gas per day. For more information, please visit www.marinewellcontainment.com.
