Bdaily launches personalised news service

Present in the North East for the past decade, Bdaily has developed a reputation as a valued and trusted source of local business news. After developing an in-depth knowledge of the needs of the regional business community, it soon became clear to managing director Siobhan Bales that a personalised news service could be of real benefit to all businesses - not just in the North East.

“While it’s important for businesspeople to keep abreast of the news, they don’t always have lots of time to look for it.” Siobhan explains. “ We wanted to give our readers the news which matters to them - which is how we developed the concept of MyBdaily.”

Bdaily has traditionally provided a daily email news dispatch, but MyBdaily will go even further. News can now be personalised by each user, who are given the option to choose both the regional and sectoral news content which is most relevant to them.

Businesses based in the the East Midlands, East Anglia, North West, South East, South West, West Midlands and Yorkshire can subscribe to the service, choosing between a broad range of industry sectors including Business, Environment, Finance, Industrials, Innovation, Law, Lifestyle and Technology.

While Bdaily is built upon the traditional newsdesk and specialist journalist model, member contributions also play an important part in the creation and provision of content. The Bdaily membership is made up of thousands of businesspeople with extensive knowledge in their field, and the Bdaily news and blogging community can provide them with an opportunity to share this expertise.

Individuals who take advantage of free Bdaily membership can directly upload their news, advice and opinion pieces to the site. To take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to build their business profile, individuals must register via the link www.bdaily.co.uk/register. Registration is simple, and after building their profesional profile, individuals can immediately start adding content. Any content they upload is also aggregated to their own Bdaily microsite, enabling other users to easily access their content.

“The community aspect of the site is very important to the Bdaily network, and by creating an area where news is provided by business for business, we believe we can help our members to develop knowledge, formulate ideas, forge connections and ultimately do business with one another.” Siobhan continues.

Merging two distinct, progressive business models including an online news service with an online business led network, means business people from across the UK can gain double value from Bdaily. Whilst business news providers and online media networks serve a purpose for UK businesses, Bdaily is an intelligent response to what businesses really need in terms of keeping informed and connected, as well as actively promote and publish across a relevant audience. Comprehending the restrictions of time and budgets of businesses, Bdaily has really challenged itself as a business model to deliver what business needs.

Siobhan added: “Bdaily was born out of my own need to know more about the business community, as well as the requirement to promote my business to a relevant audience.

“The growth of Bdaily over the years has proved we have managed to deliver those two objectives well, and now we want to share our service to the rest of the business community across the UK.”
