Toll road proposals
A new study has suggested that charging for road use would be a feasible alternative to the current system funded by taxes or fuel.
Currently fuel and excise duty raise around £38 billion each year, but this is set to fall - which means that a new system must be implemented. While the introduction of tolls would penalise some businesses, it would benefit those who use cars less, whilst also reducing congestion.
