Inadequate apprenticeships

Apprenticeship training has been one of the key components of the Coalition’s skills policy, but a parliamentary committee have now questioned the benefit of some apprenticehsips.

According to the Committee of Public Accounts, schemes which last for six months or less are of no real benefit, and the training received by individuals on those schemes is inadequate in the wider workplace. However, many employers are unable to support an apprentice for a longer period of time than this - so what needs to change?
