Yorkshire teams take part in CBRE Olympic relay

Members of CBRE’s Leeds and Sheffield offices have been making an Olympic effort for charity by recently taking part in the company’s mammoth Olympic relay from Aberdeen to London.

Kicking off on the 1stMay and lasting for over three weeks the CBRE baton will be passed through each of CBRE’s 14 offices, through the hands of over 100 UK and Irish employees, covering 1,000 miles by various modes of transport all to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

The Yorkshire offices started their leg with a Mini Olympics in the Leeds office to honour the arrival of the North West team bringing the baton from Manchester, followed by a team of 10 walkers going to the Royal Armouries to wave off the 9 cyclists departing for Sheffield. After safely delivering the baton over 60 miles to the Sheffield office, a team of 6 cyclists from the Yorkshire offices continued the journey embarking on a grueling 90 mile ride to Birmingham.

Managing Director of CBRE’s Yorkshire offices, Richard Sunderland, said; “We are thrilled to have taken part in the CBRE Olympic relay and are very proud of the Yorkshire team’s contribution. The relay has been a fun and interactive way to raise money whilst bringing together CBRE staff from across the UK.”

The journey is set to finish on the 22 May when the baton arrives at the Henrietta House London offices after a keen team of London cyclists will do the final leg of the journey to bring the baton from Portsmouth to London.
