Newcastle University Residency - Plant Microscopy
Over the last couple of years I have been fortunate enough to gain access to the School of Biology at Newcastle University. One of the areas that I have been interested in is the internal structure of plant and live algal specimens. The microscopy image above is of a fern leaf. Microscopy is a form of photography that uses the magnification technique of a microsope to record detail within your chosen subject.
I have been amazed at the patterns that I have discovered using a microscope and the wonderful versitility of the images produced. You can see a number of jewellery items that I have produced that were inspired by myplant microscopy collection here.
The next product that I am going to launch will be silk scarves with digitally printed microscopy, I am very excited about this development. To keep up to date with all future products please visit my blog here.
