Black Country LEP farewell to board members
The chairman of the Black Country LEP has highlighted the positive contributions of local business leaders to the success of the organisation.
Stewart Towe, chair of the Black Country LEP, has applauded the work of Jason Wouhra and John McDonough following their time as members of the board.
Mr McDonough officially left his position in March following his retirement as managing director at construction giant Carillion.
Meanwhile Mr Wouhra, who is the company secretary and director of East End Foods, has now also stepped down from his duties with the LEP.
The company is one of the UK’s leading spice, lentil and rice specialists, with an annual turn-over in excess of £120million and Mr Wouhra has helped lead the recent move to a new £10.5million depot in Aston as the site of the former HP factory.
Stewart Towe, chair of the Black Country LEP, said: “Over the last 18 months we have helped open up funding streams of more than £100 million for local business and laid the foundations for 10,000 new jobs and it is important that the efforts and contributions of those involved are recognised.
“I am extremely grateful to the support I received from Jason Wouhra in his role as vice-chairman while John McDonough helped get our business friendly planning charter up and running before his retirement.”
