Iwan Griffiths of PwC.
PwC has announced that it will split its Northern practice into two regions, the North West and the North East.
The business services firm will also change its leadership teams, as part of the move, which will come into effect from July 1, 2012.
Stephanie Hyde, partner and PwC board member for the regional business, said: “We recognise that there are significant opportunities for growth across the North and that each region has unique industries and sectors.
“Our success lies in our people knowing the market inside out and these investments in leadership teams will reinvigorate our offer to local clients and help us clearly focus on meeting their needs.
“This new structure will allow Iwan and Ian, in their new regional leader roles, to truly support their vibrant, growing business communities.
“We are committed to building a strong team, growing our presence in the market and offering our breadth of expertise across the North West and North East.”
In the North West, Iwan Griffiths will join the Manchester office as the Regional Leader and Office Senior Partner, while in the North East, which includes Yorkshire, will see Ian Green has been appointed as regional leader.
Iwan Griffiths has held leadership roles in Seoul and Tokyo, and has spent much of his career working in the banking and capital markets sector.
Ian Green is based in Leeds and has been with the firm for 25 years and currently leads the Northern restructuring practice.

In addition to these two roles, Martin Heath has also been appointed to lead the Liverpool office.
