PM to meet top bankers to discuss Eurozone

Senior politicians are set to meet with Bank of England Government and Britain’s top bank regulator Adair Turner to discuss the problems in the Eurozone.

The Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor George Osbourne will meet with banking officials amid worries surrounding the stability of the currency bloc.

The comes after the Spanish Government outlined plans to re-capitalise its fourth largest bank using government bonds.

A Government spokeswoman was keen to stress that the meeting did not indicate a crisis.

She commented: “I would have thought they’d be focusing on broader economy questions, what the IMF had to say and prospects for the euro zone.
