Black Country businesses urged to use GrowthAccelerator scheme
Black Country firms are being urged to take advantage of a new scheme to help them increase turnover and recruit more staff.
Last week, the Government unveiled the £200m GrowthAccelerator, a programme to help England’s brightest businesses achieve their ambition and potential.
Businesses who currently employ less than 250 people, and have turnovers under £40m, will be supported to overcome barriers to growth through bespoke coaching.
Experts will work with growing businesses to tackle issues and help deliver a tailored growth strategy, secure additional finance, support for innovation and develop leadership and management capability.
The initiative is being supported locally by the Black Country LEP, which is encouraging firms in the region to find out more and get involved with the scheme.
Vicki Wilkes, private sector lead for the Black Country LEP on business support, said: “This initiative will help companies ready to grow realise their potential.
“Ambitious Black Country businesses will be targeted in the first year of the three year scheme and we hope as many as possible will take on the support being offered.”
Councillor Darren Cooper, leader of Sandwell Council and LEP board member, said: “The scheme is aimed at businesses with the capacity to grow and the ability to increase their turnover or employment in the next three years.
“To find out more businesses can go to the www.growthaccelerator.com to see if they are eligible for the scheme.”
The GrowthAccelerator scheme also connects clients with trusted sources of business advice locally, such as UK Trade & Investment, business incubators and specialist professional services firms, as well as investor and business networks.
