Watson Petroleum acquire Samuel Cooke & Co depot
Watson Petroleum has acquired the Barnsley depot of Burnley-based Samuel Cooke & Co.
Watson is a distributor of fuels, and has been in operation since the 1960s, diversifying across heating oil, commercial fuel and farming fuel.
The Barnsley depot has been established for over 20 years, and will now operate as Cooke North East, a division of Watson Petroleum.
In a statement, Watson said: “This acquisition is in line with both companies strategic growth plans. Samuel Cooke & Co wishes to concentrate on the development of their core wholesale business in their North West heartland.
“For Watson Fuels this provides an opportunity to further develop an area in which we entered with the opening of our Doncaster depot in March 2011.”
