Sainsbury’s witness increase in sales
Sainsburys have witnessed an increase in sales, thanks to smaller convenience stores and online sales.
In the three months to 9 June, the supermarket chain saw a 1.4% increase in like-for-like sales excluding fuel on the previous period a year ago.

This news comes after competitor Tesco reported a 1.5% decline in sales in the 13 weeks to 26 May.
Commenting on the figures, Phil Dorrell director of retail consultants Retail remedy told the BBC: “These robust Sainsbury’s numbers are in stark contrast to those issued by Tesco earlier in the week. The two stores are going in entirely different directions.
