SEMTA ADDS TACS TO ITS TRAINING PROVIDER NETWORK

Greater skills support for North East engineering and manufacturing businesses

-Training Assessment and Consultancy Services Ltd joins Semta to tackle skills needs of the region-

Semta, the sector skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing, today announced training provider Training Assessment and Consultancy Services (TACS) Ltd as the latest addition to its fast growing network of recognised training providers.

Peterlee-based TACS will work with Semta to understand the training needs of the 4,830 engineering and manufacturing businesses across the North East, implementing training programmes that tackle these needs and deliver a demonstrable return on training investment.

With Semta research indicating an anticipated need for nearly 5,000 technical recruits in the region by 2016, the new partnership will offer the best service to employers – combining world class training programmes with Semta’s unique industry insight and diagnostic tools.

Established in 2006, TACS Ltd builds on Managing Director Rick Nicholson’s enviable 30 years experience in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. As well as supporting businesses across the North East, TACS has also recently expanded to offer training to companies in the East Midlands and North Yorkshire.
