Working into the twilight years
New research has indicated that the number of people forced to work into their retirement has doubled since the millennium.
1.4 million pensioners were working beyond the state pension age, with many attributing financial pressures to their return to their workplace. While these statistic may be surprising, the trend is set to continue as people continue to live longer. But is it a good thing? Are older workers at risk of cutting young people out of the labour market?
