Worcestershire firm enjoy far-flung successes

Global Flood Defence Systems MD Frank Kelly

Worcestershire’s Global Flood Defence Systems are enjoying strong demand for their products across far afield markets such as South East Asia and America.

The firm, based in Driotwich, is a specialist manufacturer and distributor of flood defence systems.

GFDS have experienced a strong demand for its products, following help from UK Trade & Investment, who helped them to identify target markets.

As flooding becomes an increasing threat across the world, GFDS have recently secured distribution of its range across Thailand, appointing Raydant International as its distributor.

The company took part in UKTI’s Passport to Export programme for new exporters, and has also commissioned from UKTI Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) reports into opportunities in Australia and Southern Ireland.

Frank Kelly, Managing Director of Global Flood Defence Systems, commented: “Flooding is a real and increasing threat facing the whole world, and our products are in demand in markets as far afield as South East Asia, America and the Middle East where our advanced passive technologies have been recognised as capable of providing sustainable and cost-effective solutions against the effects of flood.

“Our recent partnership with Raydant has already led to us being able to quote for several million worth of potential business.

“UKTI have been excellent in their support of our growing business. We have taken advantage of every service they have offered and we would urge any organisation which has an eye on international expansion to engage with them for some expert support and advice.”

UK Trade & Investment International Adviser Paul Thompson said: “GFDS is enjoying a meteoric rise worldwide and they fully deserve their success.

“UKTI has worked closely with the company and we hope to continue to do so as they explore opportunities in Australia and other markets.”
