My work experience with Bdaily

Over the past week I have been working closely with Bdaily for my sixth form’s work experience week and have completed a range of tasks from design to video editing.

My main interest is in web development, design and editing and so working with Bdaily was a great experience for me.

My first task was to design an advertising campaign for Bdaily, I used a graphic design software to complete this and then went onto to develop it so that it would be fully functional. I used HTML and CSS coding to make the initial design functional, I added the campaign, logo and links to the website and social networks - I think this task benefitted me greatly as I saw what it would be like to work with a client and to a brief. I also combined multiple logos together for different news stories.

I then went on to write my first blog entry. I decided to write my blog entry on one of my main interests, technology. I wrote about how smart phones impact businesses and how they can be used to manage social networks, time and organisation as well as how all of those can benefit a business. I researched Apple’s new operating system for mobile technology, iOS 6 and added this to my blog entry. Here I found out what it was like to report on recent events and publish an article for public viewing. The finished blog entry can be found here.

My final task was to create two videos for Bdaily which showcased the main features of their website and how they work and can benefit an individual. I used a software I was unfamiliar with, but quickly adapted to it. I really enjoyed this task and will definitely consider researching and developing my skills in video editing.

I would like to thank all of Bdaily for allowing me to work with them and showing me how Bdaily works as I have greatly benefitted from this week and will definitely pursue a career in digital design.
