Etihad Airways booking numbers soar
Etihad Airways made company history earlier this month when it recorded the highest number of bookings made in a single day. The record, which was set on 11 June, beat the previous record, set on 9 January, by 13%.
A staggering 65,500 flight bookings were made with the most popular destinations for 14-17 June include Bangkok, Jeddah and flights to London.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to have broken our own records for flights bookings and will look to raise the bar further over the coming months.”
‘Why Etihad?’, the companies most recent advertising campaign has also set new records after receiving almost 1.5m hits on video sharing website YouTube.
Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and started out in 2003 with 8.3 million passengers last year. The company serves 87 passenger and cargo destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and North America.
This summer, Etihad Airways will operate 1,262 flights a week compared to the 1,106 it flew last summer.
