Betfred signs deal with InfoMedia

Bookmakers Betfred have announced that they have signed a major deal with InfoMedia to deliver integrated gaming and betting services.

InfoMedia specialise in the deployment of bespoke interactive mobile services for brands and organisations wishing to develop new communications channels with their customers. With a list of services including mobile marketing, mobile advertising, application development and digital content, InfoMedia have attracted exclusive deals with UK mobile operators including Orange and T-Mobile

An integration of services by both companies will see sports betting, bingo, gaming and casino mobile services across iPhone, Android, Windows and BlackBerry platforms, promotions across relevant editorial features, exclusive competitions and promotions and the integration of live odds services through InfoMedia 247 Sport portal. An interactive football predictor and race-card will be developed to deliver live odds to the handsets of users.

As well as sports betting, users will be able to bet on television, celebrity and novelty bets.

Betfred was started up by Fred Done with one shop in Salford in 1967 and, since then has opened over 1360 shops and was responsible for the first betting shop millionaire in 2004.

Managing Director of Betfred.com Chris Sheffield said: “This is a ground-breaking deal for the mobile industry and a very exciting evolution for Betfred.com.

The relationship between Betfred and InfoMedia will be overseen by InfoMedia’s Executive Officer Michael Tomlins who said: “Given the sports and editorial pedigree we have developed, adding the betting facilities under a strong brand like Betfred makes commercial sense.”
