Coast and Castles Challenge raises £6,000
Congratulations are in order for the team of cycle riders from Galliford Try, one of the UK’s leading housebuilding and construction groups, who recently completed a gruelling 210 mile bike ride from Edinburgh to Newcastle.
With some donations still expected, almost £6,000 has been raised so far.
Although the original idea of the ride was to have some fun whilst taking up a challenging event, the team was also determined to raise money for one of the team member’s favourite charities, The Huntingdon’s Disease Association. Team member, Simon Grylls explains:
“In the year 2000 my wife Suzanne and I were given the news that she was suffering from Huntingdon’s Disease which is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is no treatment or cure. Now she is in full time care in a nursing home.
“2012 is a very special year for us as a family as Suzanne and I will be celebrating our silver wedding anniversary and as part of our commemorations, decided to raise money for the Huntingdon’s Disease Society.”
It is not too late to be part of the Galliford Try Coast and Castles Challenge. Supporters can pledge their support by making a donation to www.justgiving.co.uk/coastcastles2012
