Here’s the thing…..
I’m just about to leave for Wimbledon this morning and I ring to book a taxi. Since making the call I’ve been trying to remember when I last heard such a miserable, unwelcoming voice on the telephone.
Here’s the thing - you’ve heard the expression “You never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression“, you know how much you appreciate it when you get a nice greeting when you walk in a restaurant, a store, or make a phone call to some business or other and yet so many businesses fail to do the most simple yet one of the most important things - ensure their front line people know how to make a customer/ client feel welcome and valued. It costs nothing.
(I’ll ring another taxi firm next time.)
