Historic St George’s House Set To Reopen

Exquisite Bolton building St George’s House will officially reopen its doors on Wednesday (July 4th) after undergoing a major £1.5m restoration and refurbishment project to return it to its former glory.

The historic St George’s House, which was originally built in 1908 and was formerly the NHS Prescription Pricing Authority, will be reopened at a special ceremony to mark the occasion.

Regeneration specialist and commercial developer Python Properties has transformed the iconic five storey building into high quality office and business with an art gallery and bistro.

Dave Singleton, chairman of the board at Bolton Lads & Girls Club and Keith Davies, director of development and regeneration at Bolton Council will open the building in the presence of approximately 200 key business professionals, political and regeneration figures from the region.

The celebration will run from 11.30am until 13.15pm at St George’s House, St George’s Road, Bolton, BL1 2EU.

Martin Johnson, Python Properties partner, said: “Within only four months of work beginning onsite to restore this beautiful historical building we will be reopening the doors to St George’s House in early July.

“Throughout the regeneration project careful attention has been given to ensure original features are preserved and showcased where possible.

“St George’s House will be a superb place to work and do business; it will provide tenants with first-class class office and business facilities. It is also a building that the public can enjoy due to its central positioning within the town, art gallery and bistro.”

The renaissance project included retaining and restoring original features of the building including the spectacular staircase, which acts as a central focus, and the decorative high ceilings that had previously been hidden-away by the previous occupant.

Python Properties has reported that St George’s House is already attracting potential tenants to the property and reservations are now being taken.
