Lord Green unveils new Leicestershire IT facility
The Trade Minister has visited Leicester to open Intercede Group’s new research and marketing facility.
Lord Green attended the launch of the building, which will house more than 20 additional staff, on the 20thanniversary of the company’s founding in a move which supports the firms corporate development and expansion plans.
During his visit, Lord Green discussed the opportunities and challenges of growing a UK software company, both at home and abroad, including the importance of creating a pool of skilled staff, funding growth, government incentives for businesses and entrepreneurs and the role of UK Trade & Investment in supporting UK exporters.
Lord Green said: “The Government views the role of small and medium size enterprises as critical to spurring an export-led UK economic recovery through innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Intercede is an excellent example of the kind of business the UK needs to sustain growth.”
Richard Parris, Intercede Chairman and Chief Executive, said: “It is an accolade to our team that a government minister agreed to open our new facility. During Lord Green’s visit we discussed how Intercede has harnessed local talent to create a world beating technology for managing digital identities.
“Lord Green acknowledged the tremendous growth potential of our business and the help and support available from the local UKTI team to help Intercede exploit its leadership position.”
