New regional chair for cricket charity

The Lady Taverners, the women’s fundraising arm of one of the UK’s most established charities, The Lord’s Taverners has appointed a new chair to its Northumberland and Durham region.

The Lady Taverners specialises in giving young people, especially those with special needs a “sporting chance” and the role will see Rozanna Head- Rapson hold responsibility for strategy and fundraising throughout the region.

Rozanna, founder and head of the family law department at Jesmond based McDaniel and Co, is no stranger to the third sector, having shown a significant commitment to charitable organisations through volunteering at charity shops as a student before undertaking pro bono legal work during her many years of practice as a solicitor.

Speaking of her new position with the Lady Taverners, Rozanna said,

“The role of chairing the Northumberland and Durham Lady Taverners really appeals to me as it assists young people in the local community through active participation in sports, to enjoy physical activities which will benefit their self esteem, health, education and future socio-economic potential.

“The Lady Taverners receives great support in the North East and I hope to continue with the considerable contribution they make to enhance the prospects of young people with special needs using cricket and other forms of sport and recreation to engage with them.”

Rozanna will be holding a series of events over the year, starting with a fashion show held at As You Like It, Jesmond, taking place on 18th October.
