Should the cuts stop?
Local councils and government departments have cut spending by £6.7 million more than planned, according to the Treasury.
The biggest underspend was in the National Health Service, which came in £1.7 billion under budget. While it is good news that the Public Sector is embracing the cuts, is it a signal that the Government should reconsider the Austerity Budget? By reducing the number of redundancies and reinstating key services, could the Government give the economy the kick-start it so badly needs?
