Phoenix. Greenest Taxi Company in UK?
Back in May, we at Phoenix welcomed our first Electric vehicle to the company. Although not currently in service as a taxi, many of us here firmly believe that 100% Electric cars are the future. Thanks to Daisy Green Magazine, Phoenix has the Peugeot Ion for 6 months as part of trial with Peugeot and Newcastle University.
We are very aware of environmental issues, and would like to think of ourselves as the greenest taxi company in the Northeast, if not the UK, as 85% of our saloon cars run on LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) as opposed to petrol or diesel, and are certainly looking towards the future and hoping to receive not only Electric Charging Points on our site in Blyth, Northumberland but eventually to have our very first 100% electric car up and running as a taxi.
Advantages:
- They provide a quieter ride, and cause less air pollution.
- Less costly to operate
- They say they are more reliable as they have fewer parts
- Quick charge points enable you to charge the car in 20 minutes
So look out for our Phoenix Electric car, around the North East and we hope to keep you updated on all our Green news.
